s13 ka24de idle/startup problem

ok so i recently dropped a ka24de on my 90 s13 , no emission stuff..

so at start up , car turns and everyting but after a couple of seconds dies. it will stay on if i apply gas to it..

so then i removed the hose on the intake tube (pic below) , im guessin that hose comes from the iavc and motor remains on...


can anyone tell me whats the deal here?

Also if its about to stall and I disconnect the MAF it runs better if I connect it back runs crappy... faulty maf
