Hey guys whats up?... So heres the deal im trading some of my sr parts to a buddy for his semi low milage ka24de its coming out of a 93 s13 and im putting it in my 95 s14. Im quite sure these years fall under the same on board diagnostic category obd 1. So basically my questions are Am i gonna run into any problems with this swap? Can i use the S13 ecu? And am i going to need an s14 wiring harness? Any other advice or tips would be apprieciated.
Thanks, COrey.... Not a noob just have never worked with the ka

It really depends how your sr is swapped in there now. You will rather need to ”unswap” the wiring harness or get a s14 ka harness. (make sure you get the right one for your car there are 2 different options for s14) you can use the s13 ecu if you use the s14-s13 ecu harness adapter.

The two types of wiring harnesses for the s14 .... Meaning obd1 and obd2?? Also how much is the s13 to s14 adapter and where can I get it?? And if I'm using the s14 harness do I have to change anything else?

I'm not excactly sure on the differences, I just know that there are two completely different pin outs for the zenki and couki (or what ever lol). Id call wiring specialties and see if they have some. If using the s14 hanged that's meant for the car and the adapter, everything should be plug and play.

If using the S13 engine with S14 ECU and harness you'd want to find S14 intake mani and distributor setup.

And also i called wiring specialties and and asked them if they had a jumper harness and they didnt even know what the hell i was talking about. :chuckle: hahaha. if im gonna be running an s13 Ecu do i have to switch to a s14 dizzy or can i use the s13 one with the external coil??? dont know if the plugs different.
Someone also told me i have to take some things off of a ka intake mani.. is this true and if so what ? I wouldnt think i would have to because my S14 is obd1 just like the s13 for gods sake they are only one production year apart.

If you get a '95 S14 harness and ECU, then '95 Intake mani, and S14 distributor it will all be fine.

If using the S14 harness, you'll need the S14 intake mani and I believe the internal coil distributor setup (but not positive on that one, never messed with running S14 harness with S13 ECU).

I wouldn't think it would be too hard. Not sure if you can just use the S13 intake mani and get the S14 sensors swapped to it. But finding the complete '95 intake mani should be easier.
