I was wondering if any of you guys have some experienced insight on the removal of the starter of my 92 KA, it went out on me and i know i have to tackle it from underneeth, and it has 2 LONG bolts, and starter wireing, my question is where are these 2 bolts? Are they on the side closest to the firewall, and how do you disconnect the starter wireing,Thanks:D

There are two wires you need to disconnect. One is a large cable and is held to the starter by either a 12mm or 10mm nut(I think its that size) The other is just a wire that runs about 6" and unplugs.

As for the bolts. I can't remember which side of the firewall they are on, but they are fairly easy to identify as it is pretty clear that they are either holding the starter on or are bolted into the starter. They should have 14mm heads on them.

Don't forget it's probably a good idea to disconnect your battery when swapping the starter. :thinker

one of the bolts is pretty easy to get at on the bellhousing. the other is on top of the bell housing above the starter. this one is a pain to get out. people say get a long flex extension to get to it. i was able to manuver (sp?) a deep socket enough to slowly get the bolt out. it takes a lil bit of patentice and some good wrists to get it out. i used my fingers when possible to turn it too.
