Quick question....
I found a JWT KA ECU for a 91-94 KA24DE. I will be reprogramming it anyway for 370 cc injectors/MAF; my question: will it fit in my 95 KA24DE, which is still an OBD 1 engine?!?
S13 KA ECU-Compatible with 95 S14?
I just got off the phone with a JWT technician...
He says they're not at all compatible
HOWEVER, he says that's because the s13's are OBD1 and the s14's are OBD2, which is true--but I was almost 100% positive that the 1995 KA24DE (what I have) is OBD1--is there any sure way to tell?!?

Alright, I searched around a bit, and apparently after 6/95, the KA's were OBD2. Looks like I have one of the first S14's, production date is 2/94. HOWEVER, my "diagnostic" port is on the passenger side, which I heard means it's OBDII. But it can't POSSIBLY be OBD II if it was produced RIGHT at the turn of 1994, can it?
What's the sure-fire way to tell? Take the ECU out and look at jwt's website?
It makes a big difference, because if mine is OBD1, then I have the same ECU as an S13. Otherwise, I don't. BTW, can someone confirm this? If my S14 is OBD1, is it the same ECU as a S14's? Can someone show a detailed pic of an S13 ECU vs a later year S14 ECU??

Okay, I just found out that my ECU is an OBD II, according to JWT. Damn...and mine was produced in 2/94...don't assume if you have such an early model s14 that it's OBD II, because it's not.
Anyway, I found a JWT ECU on ebay for a 96 S14 Manual transmission. Since obviously the 96 s14's ecu is OBD II, and my 95 ECU is OBD II, are they compatible? Mine looks exactly like the one in the picture.
Bottom line--will the 96 S14 OBD II work with the 95 S14 OBD II??
It sounds stupid, but I don't wanna second guess myself.
