89 to 93 or 94 have a lot of the same parts from what I have seen and read. Someone else correct me if I am wrong.

the 89 and 90 S13 is the exact same car they both have the SOHC KA24E so the engine and trans can most deff be swapped rack and pinion stearing should be the same too

They are all the same parts for 89 and 90. The difference you see is between the DOHC's and the SOHC's. The biggest being yeah the motor. Not so obvious though, there's the transmission. The SOHC has only 4 sensors on it while the DOHC has 5. The one sensor that has been added to the DOHC I'm not entirely clear on what it does, but seems to run fine without it. Otherwise they'll fit just the same (it's a pain to get the transmission in btw) and should function the same. The pinion unit and the pinion unit is the same throughout the entire production run. The ps reservoir is also in a different location with the DOHC vs. SOHC. Otherwise they'll fit in the same place on the pinion unit.

The only difference that hasnt been stated the front bumper, The older 240s have a grill, the newer ones dont, also I think the ac condensor is different. The Newer 240's dont have the grill and have a bigger cooling fan I think...could be wrong on the fan though. Other than that u got me

the turn signals are a little different, the 89-90 have rectangular and the 90-94 have a tear shape, Year-to-Year Changes1991: A more potent twin-cam, 16-valve 4-cylinder engine arrived for 1991, as a new LE hatchback replaced the XE. Essentially the SE hatchback with leather upholstery and air conditioning, the LE was the highest-priced 240SX model. The lineup also included hatchbacks and notchbacks in base and SE trim. With new sequential fuel injection, the '91 engine developed 155 horsepower--15 more than before. All coupes got a new nose with an integrated bumper. Antilock braking, previously optional only on the SE hatchback, now could be installed on the LS.1992: A convertible debuted during 1992 in "Limited Edition" trim with a rear spoiler, automatic transmission, and power top, windows, and door locks. Otherwise, changes were minimal except for eliminating available antilock braking on the LE model.1993: Not much change marked the 1993 models, but the leather-upholstered LE hatchback was gone.1994: An SE convertible was the sole body style offered for '94, unchanged except for a new "cherry red pearl" color choice.

quicksilvia, didn't both the ka's have sequential fuel injection? I believe you might be mistaken, or I'm ill-informed.
