I recently bought a 91' S13 and the stupid power seat belt on the drivers side went out. Thinking of the hatred welled up inside of me for the power seat belts I went out a bought a Sparco 3pt Double Buckle harness. The harness is nice but everywhere I bolt it in, I can't tighten it enough. (I have it in the stock spot where the backseat one was and the two factory front ones. The inside one next to the console is mounted to the seat. I need to know:

-Where I can get standard bolts for my harness?

-Are there better ways to mount it?

-Is this truly an unsafe setup without a roll cage/Bar?

-Can I get a ticket for this in Colorado?

Any help would be greatly appriciated...

You could have taken the car to the dealer to get the seatbelts serviced free and save yourself all this hassle! Now then... as to being unsafe, if you don't mount the harness at the proper angle, something about spinal compression and paralysis can occur in the event of an accident. Get a harness bar at the very least.

you think that if I put my belts back in they will service it for free? or will they say no since they are "tamperd with"?

Unless your my VA dealership, on my old car, sometimes the latch wouldn't latch all the way, and the seatbelt would pop out. They tried, it didn't do it, and they didn't care. They said even if it did, I would have to pay to get it fixed.

A better way to mount the harness is to use a rock climbing hook/loop/caribeener thing and attach it to the loop where the back seat latches on at the top. these hook things can be bought for less than $10 and can support thousands of pounds. dont take my word for it but they seem pretty safe.
