So thanks to a sale of an unused turbo kit, I now have some money to fix the creature comforts of my S13 Convertible. One thing that has been missing since day 1 is a functional stereo. The previous owner had an aftermarket stereo and an amp in the car but pulled out the amp before the sale leaving me without a radio.

Here is my question, has anyone had luck finding a touchscreen with nav that fits in the factory dash opening? I'm afraid to buy something and have it be just a hair too big and be forced to modify the shifter surround.

Any recommendations would be great. If I can find it I'm looking for something with GPS Nav, CD/DVD, and Bluetooth. Anything else is a plus. Thanks.

Have you looked at Crutchfield.com? Usually they already know what fits and what doesn't.
Did the seller pull the radio as well as the amp, or just the amp?

He just pulled the amp but the aftermarket radio he put in just screams early '00s zero taste. If I'm going through the trouble of putting the radio back together, I'm going to put in the radio I want.

EDIT: I checked crutchfield and the only thing that "fits" is the ones where the screen comes out and swings up. A little
Too busy for my taste and afraid it would block the AC.

Yeah I was afraid of that as well.
I know some of our members have done full on custom jobs using a tablet or an old phone or something, but that's pretty deep.

So after walking around Best Buy with a hand cut template of the dash opening, I'm fairly confident that the opening is probably a Double DIN or slightly larger. I'll need some custom brackets but that's not beyond my skill level.

Excellent. Post up what you come up with and let us know how it works out.

I don't think you'll require any custom brackets. It's just a standard double din setup, so pretty much any double din screen should fit.
