yeah, they went up one day and refuse to go back down, BOTH of them at the same time

I was looking around for fuse and the only thing I found was "lamp control" or something and that didn't blow

I did find some relays where the hotpipe is and I guess according to them, there are 2 relays for headlights going up (1 for each side) and 1 relay for going down.

I can't visit the junk yard until saturday.... do you guys think it's a broken relay?

My right side light will, when it feels like it, not go down. Not all the time but some times. Like last night when I first turned them off, the left side goes down fine, the right side stays stationary. I get out and give it a slight thumb with the fist, and it (never fails) politely hides itself at that point.

Then, last night, I'm home and am thinking "OK, time to turn the switch off, get out, give the R side lamp a little Whammo, and all is done. So I flip the switch and voila!! both lights rotate down like they're supposed to.

i hit it like 100 times and it won't go off, so I decide to PULL on the switch and still stuck

is there a way to trigger it? without using the swtich? maybe the switch is bad?

because my stupid hand had to hit the switch to pop it up during the day time and when I hit it again to retract, it won't go back down

Well, you can always supply power directly to the wire that is responsible for it going down. I had that problem with my pivot headlight controller when my controller was not connected properly since it spliced the "down signal" wire.

Behind the driver's side kick panel there is a black box behind the white TCU box. The black box is the headlight timer. You can take that out and check for burnt circuit board (probably not). I believe the wire that is responsible for making it go down is the pink/black wire. just use a multimeter and see if it gets 12 volts when you hit the "off headlight" button. If it is, then maybe a bad relay.

Another thing you can try is to manually turn headlights down w/ the turn thing-a-jiggy knob right next to it and see if they go up - if they don't, then bad headlight motor?

Hope this helps.

my battery is drained by something and I think it has something to do with the flipping lights

I been noticing that it's hard to start the car in the morning... especially when it's cold, I THINK

this morning I can't start my car... can't even roll down the windows, my multimeter said it's only 3v left...

I jumped it and went to work, after 3 hours later I Can't start it again, check it again with multimeter it's at 5v, but this time I paid more attention and it's losing power at about 0.01V every 3 to 5 seconds according to the multimeter, I went back into the car and made sure nothing was on and it is still losing power at the same rate...

i jumped the car again and ONE of the headlight went down, it will come by up with the push of the light switch but still won't go down.

so I pulled all 3 headlight relays under the intake and it stopped losing power, I drove the car but checked multimeter before I do anything and they all remained at 11v

weird!

I swear I have the same problem w/ my lights not going down. They come up fine if I push the headlight button but wont go down when I turn off the lights. I can even turn on my lights without my headlights coming up until I push the button. Whats weird is that when the button is pushed in and I go to put the headlights down manually the get about halfway and go down by themselves then right back up. I have checked and replaced all relays, and fuses but still no luck. But I have never checked that black box that brokeAs240sx was talking about.I'll have to check that.

i found the problem... I think. it's the driver side motor.... it's super hot when I touch it and I hear, probably an internal relay? clicking every 10 seconds or so...

well, i bought them a while ago for my old car for $30 shipped for both. but i have no idea if they work, since i never got the chance to put them on.

ill let you have BOTH for now and if the driver's actually works, give me like $10 for it and you can keep the passenger side incase that ever craps on you as well. hows that sound ?
