I VE SEEN IT MANY TIMES HOPING THAT IT WOULD NOT HAPPEN TO ME...BUT DAMN! IT DID. MY HEADLIGHTS CAN BE TURNED ON AND THEY POP UPP LIKE NORMAL. BUT THEY WILL NOT GO BACK DOWN ....SO TILL I CAN FIGURE IT OUT . IVE BEEN USING THE MANUAL RETRACT KNOBS UNDER THE HOOD. HAS ANYONE ELSE OUT THE HAD THIS PROBLEM ? DOES ANYONE THINK ITS JUST THE RELAY? AND CA IT BE TESTED

its most likely just a bad headlight timer, there is a little black box behind the panels where the fuse box is, if it is unplugged or bad then the lights will go up fine but will not go back down.

-source from google.

also try search button if that doesn't work.

Thank God.. I thought I was the only one in the world with this problem. My lights worked fine and one day they just started 'not going down'..?? Tried new relays, tested everything under the hood with ohm meter, and even swapped headlight motors today to no avail.. I'm going to check that ish yo, hopefully it is the box.

gong to try the timer 1st (that is when i have the nerve to mess w/ 20 year old wiring)...i tries one of the h/l ret relays near the throttle body and al it does is allow the light to go up when you hit the flasher and the up/down switch on the dash

I've had this problem in the past and I forgot where one simple fix write up was. It had something to do with the contacts in the light switch mounted on the steering wheel beeing crusty from time. I was lazy before I cleaned it out by hitting the headlight popup button or pressing inward on the switch as I turned on/off the lights.
