Anyone have any good pics of a setup in an S13 HB?...i have removed my back seat and would like some kind of box or mount for my amps etc. Basically im mounting 2 US AMPS usa-100 and a Infinity Basslink powered sub...im just trying to get some ideas on a setup that wont weigh me down too much, i also have relocated my battery to the rear...as you know weight is a factor so i would like somethin lite but sturdy...maybe fiberglass would be an option but im not experienced with it....any feedback will help! Thanx Nicons!

DOOM out.

fiberglass stinks like hell and is toxic, but is somewhat easy to work with. if you're just making an amp rack use wood and save some brain cells. it won't weigh that much more. if you are really concerned about weight then ditch the subs and get some good components. then you can use the back seat for making sweet sweet love, or whatever you do back there.

I don't have any pics right now but you'll get the general idea.

I just have 4 4x6 infiniti kappa series powered by a kenwood 600w amp. the amp is secured to the back of the back seat to the metal of the seat frame. then I just have a removable sealed sub box w/2 12" fosgates. The subs are powered by a kenwood 1000w attached to the box itself. I did it this way because for track time you have to remove non factory components unless they are securely anchored. I don't have to worry about the extra weight on the track and I don't care about weight on the street cause i only race on the track. It's the perfect setup for me, disconnect 3 wires, wrap in electrical tape and off to the track I go.

They make quick disconnect "couplers" for batteries (look in racing suppliers) and you could use a bullet style for the trigger. Might be worth looking into.

just do this :P

ohhh right, weight is an issue... well if you still have all the carpet back there, i suggest just gettin a piece of mdf, cut it so it contours around the strut towers and wrap it in carpet, bolt that down and then you can solidly mount your amps and your basslink to it, will only add 20 lbs max if you use 5/8" mdf. just a suggestion, all you're lookin for is a place to mount everything. if you don't want to add the weight of the mdf, you can just mount your amps/basslink straight to the trunk, you'll be drillin holes in it anyways to make grounds.
