I was wondering if anyone knows where to get a brand new oem stock spoiler for the hatchbacks. I've been reading that its a common problem for the spoilers to cause rusting between the hatch and the spoiler mounts. What do most people do regarding this problem? I just had my car painted without the spoiler and I'm looking to replace it with an oem one because it costs too much to fix those 10 holes it left behind. The problem is the dealer charges 200 dollars for the spoiler. Is there a place that sells oem nissan parts at a discounted price? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

ouch... that's a tough one. See whats cheaper, to fix the holes or to buy the spoiler... I use ducttape on mine until spring. Then I'm gonna run to checkers and grap some bondo/fiberglass, whatever, and seal them up. No spoiler period.

I was going to have it fixed. The labor was actually 75 to cover up the holes, but the guy at the body shop said it probably wouldn't last because the impact caused by shutting the trunk over time. The only good way to fix it would be to weld some sheet metal onto it and that would run for about 150 or so.

i say you just pay the $150 to get the holes welded up. because if you plan on having the car a long time, theres a big chance the same problem could occur. and also, if you dont fix it, and more water gets trapped under the spoiler, it could just rust through...completely

...but then again, i dont even own a 240 :(

I would go without it for the fact is sucks having to deal with rain in your hatch. I have to buy a whole new hatch mine is so rusted out. I also have to keep my carpet out till i fix it cause it holds the water in. 150 isn't bad compared to 200 for the spoiler. A used spoiler for a junkyard or aution could be a idea, but i would just close the holes.Bryce

Check E-bay and this sites want ads. Also, I believe Courtesy Nissan will sell you one for $175.00 or so, but add shipping.

Yeah, I popped mine off within the first month due to the rot I could see under it. I got me some bondo, and some rust dissolver w/ rust inhibitor and put that on before the bondo. Bondo on, then sand smooth, mask up the car's rear and spray on some waterproof primer. That'll buy you some time to take it in to get it painted.

How much will it cost for me to have a spoiler installed onto my trunk without having holes already in it?
