I was reading a few posts about people hearing a priming sound of the fuel pump. All i hear is a small clump sound from the fuel pump. And thats for like a half of a second. I was wondering what the actual priming sound sounds like. Some people have said it pumps for 5 seconds, but I cant "hear" it. Or am I not suppose to hear it.

Well i have a problem thats why I posted lol. My engine wont crank and I have a feeling its the fuel pump.

Last time the engine ran it died a few times with the rpm goin up and down. I turned the key a few more times no luck. After a few turns it almost got it but no luck.

I checked the fuses relays even changed the spark plugs distributor etc etc.

The priming sound that everyone is talking about. I want to know if its very noticable, long, short sound. Anything will help.

The fuel pump priming is very noticeable You will hear a huummm for about 2-4 seconds when the key is switched to the "ON" Position

Check for a 12V signal at the pump If you got 12V then pop off the Fuel Feed line for the injectors and click to the "ON" Postion and watch for fuel.

also check your fuses and relays sometimes it can save you a lot of money. if not either of those have a friend turn the switch to on while you are in the trunk area and listen for a small humming sound.but remember it will only (humm) for about 2 seconds.
