Hey Nico!

:bowrofl: So I'll be graduating from college in the Spring of 2011 and in order for me to finish successfully I have been diligently working on my senior project. The focus of my project is comparing the stock KA24E with a Redtop sr20det. I have access to a mustang dyno and I need to get a data set for both cars (HP & Ft/Lb). This will be taking place in the spring and I am located in Williamsport PA. If anyone is interested in having their SOHC (ONLY!!) engine dyno'd than get in contact with me please!! I need good candidates with engines in good running condition. You car will be fully inspected w/ compression tests and an oil change must be done prior just to be safe. Also If anyone can help me source some literature either on the 89-94 240sx/180sx or the redtop SR20 because I have a 8 page research paper that needs to be finished by December and I need sources for the paper so. I need hard copies of any books that might pertain to these topics.

Thanks NICO and I would really appreciate any help at all.

Why do I feel like these "graduation project" threads are some sort of BS most of the time. And I am pretty sure the data is out there where you don't need do this. But what is the point of this, what are you trying to prove, is there an agenda?

Wow I kinda feel like costaricans13 is straight up disrespecting my efforts to get a college degree because he's jealous that he has to settle for a GED or something. No need to bash on this thread fellas. I'm a dean's list student at the Pennsylvania College of Technology as an Automotive technology Management student. Its 1 of 3 schools in the NATION (yes the United States of America) that offers this program and if you think that you know anything about me or what I'm about then please post on some other BS forum. I'm looking for sources (aka. books, literature, magazines) that pertain to valuable information to the sr20det and its american counterpart the KA24E. I had a s13 with the SOHC, now it has the SR and I want to compare the two period. If you don't want to help, go jack off your ka24de.

and OutToWin, I know very well that the data is out there but the school wants me to prove that I have done extensive research and that I am the one who provides the data. Hence the fact that I need to run both on the dyno at the school. Understand?

Still doesn't sum up the effect. Are you trying to prove one is superiors. Are you recording emissions, I am curious to know how detailed this goes. Is it a gross HP comparison, or is it this VS this.

well my final point was to express how Japan gets higher performance out of the box than the USdm vehicles do sheerly based on Horsepower and Tq ratings between the two. I will not be recording emissions because my vehicle doesn't have any emission devices on it what so ever so I would be shooting myself in the foot with that one. We do have a 5 gas analyzer at the facility where this is to be taken place though so if I wanted to I could.

Perhaps you should do that test with the USDM 2JZGTE and its JDM 2JZGTE...... and say huh when the US version makes more power :)

Yea I get where your coming from but this build has been a 2 1/2 year project for me. I've been piecing this engine together every semester that I have a class that will allow me to do work pertaining to my SR. For example, in my engine principles class I was able to port and polish the exhaust and intake sides of the head. In my engine repair and driveability, I put the engine together and got it in the bay. I just wanted to use this swap as my senior project to show how far I have come from a automatic sohc to the fresh to death SR that I built with my own two hands ya know?

My god you guys are harsh. Here's a free bump for you dude.

If I still had my hatch, and was anywhere near you, I'd be glad to help.

Idk what PAHC's problem is, it's not like you can change your final assignment, you're just politely asking for someone's help. This thread is now cluttered up with BS about the project itself, not anyone helping you.

I call it like I see it, and then wanted more info on it. Granted idealy the cars would be brand new, with a same service history. However I think he's got time to find a donor. At the same time asking for help may require compensation..... your an auto major do the oil change and offer a free allignment or something..... free gets attention.

Oh an AZ this belongs in the regional section.

If you were anywhere near where I am offering this, I know both of you would make it on your top priority list to come to Penn College to run your cars on the dyno for a couple of passes to see where you numbers lie. That is as "free" as your gonna get. I would love to get on my knees to change your oil and do an alignment for you but my senior project is a numbers based comparison between jdm and usdm, not a charity case for people who are too lazy to do an oil change yourselves. I'm done defending myself on this forum. CRs13 - we need more male nurses for sure =)
