s13 fuel tank straps removal

I was wanting to know if the rear end has to be dropped in order to remove the fuel tanks straps completely. I have new ones to install and been searching around and haven't found a def anwser. thanks!

Not if you're patient, the bolts that hold the straps are way up underneath, I think I needed to undo them with a wrench and they are lllonggg. Eventually they come off though and then there is a pin up near the bumper that releases that end of them. Put the new one into the slot and attach the pin then start putting the long bolt back in. It helps if you're a bit of a contortionist.

Note, do them one at a time so the tank position doesn't shift.

I started to remove the lllonggg @ss bolt and it jams right onto the rear end frame. I cant get passed it...

The straps are rusted through completely and duffman i have the fsm and i have been through it so thanks for the smart @ss comments..... I wanted to know if there was another way other than dropping the rear end because i don't have all the time in the world I work 2 full time jobs and this is my only car. so that doesn't qualify me as being lazy so f*** off ***hole!
