Has anyone done this? I wanna keep the stockish look of my RB 240sx but I want more flow through the engine bay. I'm thinking of doing like in the pic but having the slot a more trapezoid shape. Any other pics or info is appreciated .

imo stay away from any shapes in the front that have corners. there are not may corners or sharp edges anywhere else on the car to me it would just seem out of place

Damnit I wish i had photoshop.

It wouldnt be sharp corners... Picture the same thing hes done up there, but instead of a "pill" shape, it would be a very long, rounded trapezoid if you know what i mean.

i did it on my recently sold 240.

simple trace and cut. gotta look out tho, it will distort the shape of the bumper and cause waves. maybe it would help if you used a flat peice of steel on the inside to help reinforce it and keep it flat.

Yes and no. It would be wider on the bottom so its technically not a rectangle; its a trapezoid . But yes very rounded edges. Picture using a hole saw half the width of that slot for the corners or so.

you either need to remove or modify your bumper support

I would have a small 1-2" deep box the size and shape of it out of aluminum or the same Material as the bumper(polypropelene?) and mold it into the whole. That way it stays strong and looks factory-ish.

I love your pig nose - I was going to do the same to mine and now that I've seen yours I'm feeling.... definately. Maybe put a shroud behind it to direct airflow.

a shroud woudl be nice. i just ran out of build time to finish it up. had to get it into paint to be ready for the first show/drift event.

twisted99s10 what is the color code for your car? I started a thread looking for it and used a picture I took of your car at Carlisle 09 before I saw this thread.

it is based off of a dodge inferno red color. believeit or not, its off a caravan. its a tri stage paint, i was lucky and got a paint sponsorship from napa or it would have been something single stage. lol. the mitsubishi color primal red off of the galants i think it was, is very simmilar. a little darker.
