Okay... so this is pretty far down the line, but I'd like to know now: what's the difference in performance, cost, and difficulty to install between the:

SR20DETCA18DETRB20DETRB26DETT

Let me tell you a little about what I want out of this engine. I'm not looking for gawdawful power, I just want something quick and agile. Is the weight going to be a big deal? I like the idea of the CA, smaller displacement = better mileage, right? and it's lighter. but is the 30 HP difference worth the lightweight and gas efficiency? Are there any other engines I should know about? Once this engine goes in, I don't really think I'm gonna do anything else to it. maybe turn the boost up a bit. not too much. what do you guys think?

it depends on how much power your looking to start out with. if your comfortable with 175hp, then the CA will work great, but if you want more than that, you may want to do some more reserach. i know this topic has been discussed before, so check out the search button.

Its really easy.

The first two engines drop in with little extra cost. About $2-4,000 total install.

The last two motors will cost you more because they werent made for this car and they have extra custom install prices for things like wiring and engine mounts and larger cooling systems, etc.

You say you dont want godawful power, but mileage is about the same for the SR and CA.If you dont have the money for that, you should consider building up your stock motor, the KA. It can give you alot of power if you talk to the right people.

Try clicking on the KA forums and see where you can go with this.
