Today when I first got in my car to visit my cousin... my car cranked up and got me there without a problem. But when I went to leave my cousins house, the engine wouldn't start. I tried to crank it up 2 or 3 times more and it finally started. I put it in reverse and started to give it gas.. .the engine started rumbling and shaking just before dying. It did this about 3 or 4 more times. It will start (after some complaining) but will not do anything more than idle.

Any ideas? The car just rolled over to 189,000 miles last night.

One buddy says that a similar thing happened to his 89 300z and his Air flow sensor burned out. I have no clue, any help would be great.

Do you have an aftermarket air filter? Check to make sure it didn't come loose or the wiring harness didn't come off the mass air sensor. That would surely cause that kind of problem. As far as the mileage...these babies go FOREVER!

THe air filter coming loose wouldnt cause the problem. But your MAF wires could be the culprit.

Check your plug wires. I had one pop off the distributor one day and the car was shaking and backfiring like crazy.
