s13 engine noise- info inside

So last night I noticed it mainly havn't heard it that bad before. I was in second and brought it up to about 3.5k rpms. I let it decrease and it sounded like what I've heard before marbles swirling around in a can. Its a rattling noise. But when I push in the clutch and let it decrease in idle it does not make the noise. I will post more info later and try a soundclip too. Worse comes to worse I will swap in a new sohc. Performance hasn't changed.

also. It happens mainly when the car is colder. I didn't really check if it did it when it was warm. And it also happens in like periodical noises. At idle it will do it for a second, take a one second break, do it for another second, take a one second break etc etc.

Oh well, I'm getting the extra motor that I have out of the 240 in my backyard and then junkin the .... junker.

I have just encountered this problem aswell. However my sound comes from idle and around 2-2.5k... I'm running at about 139xxx I figure its getting pretty close to needing a rebuild .
