s13 Engine detenation

Hey, my car right now is running on regular 91 octane and boost is around 11-13psi but is detenating way too fast it seems....pry around 4.5K is this normal is my boost too high. i have had the boost at 14 before and it never used to do that??? what is something i can do?

So I see you have already upped the boost (something I suggested in your other thread). The T25 is a little turbo, maybe it's pumping too much heat with the higher boost levels (due to age it may have lost some efficiency too, but it's not efficient past about 13-15 PSI max). How are your plugs? Is your timing correct? Coilpacks going out maybe? Coolant temp sensor bad? I'd check things like that out.

I dont know if u read the other updated thread but i have the greddy profec II and i turned the gain up to 10% and it went away... not completely but made a difference. the gain was at 5% but the psi is still about 11-12. should i tune the turbo any diff.? how do u feel about knock off turbos equivilent to the gt28?

how do you know when your engine is detonating early? im not sure on how to read that correctly.
