There is a fuse labeled engine control in the fuse box in my S13 240sx that burns out almost every day. What components does it protect so I can look for shorts? Or is there any specific issue that would cause that fuse to blow? Thanks ahead of time

My guess is ECU... does it affect performance at all?

yeah most definetly. I loose my idle so the car will die if I let of the gas from 2k rpms or so. Which makes me think when that fuse blows I loose TPS. I dont loose my MAFS though because I dont have a 2500rpm rev limit when it happens.

IIRC it controls the IACV,EGRV,O2 Sensors,BPT valve and EVAP I believe. You have to check continuity on the wires to see if they are shorted.

PROBLEM SOLVED:

My EGR SOLENOID connector near back of valve cover was burnt and shorted together, removed connector, replaced and works perfect now.

is this the connector that doesnt connect to anything? and is usually ziptied to the valve cover right above the exhaust manifold? because that connector on my car recently fell on my manifold catching fire and a month later my engine control fuse pops immediately as soon as i replace it.
