A local guy is selling this fan for cheap and he tells me its from a JDM S13. Now will this fit a KA? Does it even look like its from a 240sx?

I was doing a bit more research. And found one on eBay. Its actually off of a 95-98 240sx. Now will it work for my SOHC? I have AC also so I don't want to buy this and when I turn my AC on it won't cool my car enough.

That is the a/c auxiliary fan. It sits against the radiator on all 240’s and comes on when the a/c compressor engages to aid the mechanical fan in cooling the motor. If you look through your mechanical fan at the radiator you will see the pictured fan underneath the fan shroud.

I bought this kit for my car. Works well, but you have to cut 1 1/2" off of the shroud because it is too tall for the 240's radiator. Also, you can get it for $60 less here:

I just bought the same fan locally for $10.00 and it fits behind the radiator perfectly. (Moc-up car 89 SOHC). I am going to install on my 90 later today and see if it cools properly.

The stock radiator SOHC, has two lower tabs that align with the bottom nibs og the fan. The upper holes used by the fan shroud align with the fan.

Let me know if you need pics.

Let me know how the fan cools the car. I hope you can do it while you have the ac on as well. I also hope you have the two speed one.

Sorry for the poor english... this is how I see it. Based on the original post he thought the fans were marketed as JDM S13. There is nothing JDM about it... as you stated. Most people consider JDM parts as parts that are only sold in Japan, where in fact the fan is from an S14 240sx. So with that...I am just agreeing with you!

I just installed the same fan on my S13...and she works like a champ. Well... I'll say that once the temp raises to the high 70's this weekend. Its been really cold this week.

Alright just to clear things up. My friend Robert aka JDM_master_x told me its the stock s13 electric fan. It came with every s13. Its behind the clutch fan and below the shroud. Just get an altima dual fan from a 97-2002 and youll be set. Most or not all of the parts from our 240sx are made from japan (look at your part you'll see japan). But either way the s13 electric fan is good enough unless your going for higher hp with turbos and such, sometimes not even needed..

We might want to say that it did not come on the pignose cars. They did have an electric A/C fan but it was a pusher fan.

Hey if anyone wants the electric A/C fan talked about above just let me know ill get rid of it for like 15 dollars.

so i have s13 fastbackand when i rev up to 4500 and up on uphill mountain roads, temp goes way too high, and radiator fluid boilds up.everything is stock in my car under the hood, and i wonder if those electric fan will work better than stock mechanical onesi am guessing at least i can keep the fan going without running the engine, but i guess radiator fluid wont be pumping if engine is not running, so i dont know if its any better...what can i do essensially to really improve the cooling system so that ka wont overheat, with minimum modifications?

From what im thinking you need a need thermostat or clutch for your fan.

Always change the cheapest thing first and those are the two cheapest things. You can get water wetter or some kind of coolant additive. Those are also bandaid fixes.

I dont know if youve been running hotter or flat out overheating. If its the latter then you probally need a new head gasket.
