Hey guys, i'm new to posting but definitely not new to the site. I've been helping a good friend with a rebuild of a 89 Sohc hatch. We have done the full kade and 5spd swap. just got it running and doing donuts yesterday Only wiring we have left is for a set of electric fans we pick up at the junk yard. Now i have done the search and checked out the few write ups in the tutorials section. they all seem to be done a few different ways. the setup with the thermostatic switch seems to be the most full proof. I was wondering what nissan i would be able to pull this switch out of? Also about running it to the fuel pump relay like one write up does? Just alot of indecision on the best way for it to be done. If anyone else has a different setup any ideas/pictures would be great. On a side note we got the tach wired up and the cluster working fine. But while the buddys gf was going for a ride the cluster banged around inthe car(no dash) and took a s***, we think. Is that something common? Are they serviceable or is it something we should just snatch from the yard? Thanks again guys, with out the people and the Tutorials section on NICO this build would never have gotten this far

i was thinking of moving mine to there too, but i was gonna use a temperature sensor and the body out of another car and replace the sensor with a temperature switch.

That diff looks better then the one pictured in the write up. Where did you pull it off the 90? or is that the same type sensor as the coolant temp sensor? looks the same. What did you have it plugged into? Thanks for the help.

its the same thermostatic switch as the one in the 240. its originally located on the lower radiator hose. what i did was have one wire from the thermostatic switch that has a 30AMP fuse link to the battery and the other wire going to the positive side of the fan. i grounded the fan to the chassis. it works great! no problems to reports.

Cool man, Thanks. Just walked out beside the shop and one was still on the old single coolant line. now to get a inline fuse and we are in business. Seems to be alot cleaner and simpler way for the fans to be done.

i myself prefer to directly controll the fans via switches and a direct to buss work fuse block wire for the fans with a 30 amp fuse for mine...im runnin 2 fans 12 inch dia. i live in the desert in vegas where the outside temp can get well above 110 degree's on a cool day in the shade of summer...i cant leave my cooling system to a risky switch that i dont controll...just my 2 cents.

I understand that. I ran a setup similar to yours on my old camaro and forgot to turn the fans on once. Noticed before i did any damage. But something im not to keen on doing again. Hence the therm switch. I have seen people wire into the ac fan wires?

My puller set up, which would also be used with a temp switch instead of the ECU.

I control the fans, but if I forget to turn the switches on the ECU will turn them on. I also have a pusher on a switch / relay.
