s13 ecu for a manual trans

Hey guys, I did some looking up on the s13 auto ecu's on a manual transmission. I read that it can put an extra 15 hp to the wheels if you can trick the computer into thinking that the car is always in park, has anyone ever tried this? I've heard of better numbers with a stand alone.
