i just did pads and rotors on my 240sx all around. 91 hatch. there is a screw set up to my rear caliper. i adjusted it to fit the new pads with the rotor.
well my park brake worked fantastic before the change of all the brakes. now it doesnt work at all. i mean nothing at all.
can anyone help me out? its not the cable, i think it may be the crew adjuster to set where the pads are but i tried that and didnt work like i thought.
maybe i just didnt have enough patients and didnt do it right.

anything??

found nothing in the service manual. nor did i find anything about my other question.
ive had a new steering rack put on within the last 30k miles. my steering feels jerky at times and i feel very uneasy about it.
are the bushings to be the cause? or could it be something else.
i found the steering rack bushing swap and it looks like its pretty much the mount for the whole rack and i could easily see how this is where the play and jerky feeling is coming from.

for the brakes... on the piston there will be a + looking shape grooved into it. make sure that its straight vertical and horizontal to the top of the caliper. there is a little tab sticking out on the back of the brake pad that needs to slide into it. im pretty sure the e brake uses that for its function. if you just twist it back in and then slide in your pads they might not sit in there right and be angled, meaning that you only have partial friction surface riding on the rotor. give that a shot and report back.

as for the steering issue. jack up the car in the front, have a friend (doesnt have to be a friend, could be a grandma or 2nd cousin) wriggle the wheels side to side repeatedly while you look for things that might be loose or have play in them. you will find it that way. it sounds like it could be the bushings, but you wont know for sure unless you either replace them or wriggle the wheels. also replacing them may not fix the problem which is why the wheel wriggling is the best answer.

so i got my cereal and i got the ebrake fixed. the cables werent on the correct side of the lock mount. so every time i pulled the brake it had no resistance.

and it started raining to bad before i could switch and get up front.
