I'm installing the driveshaft on my rb20 swap and it seems to be like 1/2 inch too long. The front of the driveshaft right before the part that goes into the transmission (output shaft?) seems to be resting firmly on the little metal ring that seems to be covering around the hole for the output shaft... It seems as though that is its only purpose, can I cut this off? I'm 95% sure it will fit if I cut it off, but I also do not understand why I would have to, I've never hear of this not being a direct fit.

Any help is appreciated, I'm veryveryveryvery close.

Take the dust shield off the Rb20 transmission(Where the drive shaft yoke goes into the transmission there is a gold looking shield around it) and cut it down shorter and it will fit or just take it off up to you.

Flathead screwdriver + hammer. Just bang that little thing off.

I love you guys...

I'ma gonna go give that a shot

Edit: also does anyone know if the RHD brake pedal will work in place of an auto pedal? does the shaft just have to go on the right side of the stearing column or will it just not work? I was told it will work but it aint fitting.

Sawzall half the brake pedal off. You can cut it so that the pedal arm is still dead center in the pedal and with some trimming can get the stock manual rubber cover to fit.

rhd drive brake pedal does not work, you must cut it off. I always use an angle grinder with a cutoff wheel
