I'm nearing having all the parts for my 5 speed conversion and im wondering is the driveshaft carrier bearing holder that connects the middle of the driveshaft to the underbody of the car is the same for an automatic and manual??

Also is there really a need for the engine/transmission dust plate? I come from working on hondas and they dont run one and have no problems at all with sand/debri getting in the transmission.

I personally would run the transmission plate. i seen a budy of mine run his without it and when we pulled his transmission there was mud and all sorts of stuff in there. just imagine if you hit a puddle and got a significant amount of water on to a hot clutch. as for the carrier im pretty sure 97% they are the same

cool deal! i totally forgot the transmission open without the plate is facing forward :\ im used to not running the bottom plate on integras & civics but it faces sideways so its not an issue really. i found one and picked up the carrier bearing bracket.

I whould use the dust and check plates on the car. As far as the Driveshaft I whould just eliminate the carrier bearing all together they are like 200 USD or so. I would Go with a 1 peice driveshaft and drop like 15 lbs of the car as well. We are running a sale on the driveshafts. for $268.00
