Hi, my car is not shifting properly, the clutch is not fully disengaging, I believe.

I have an 89 hatch, with an S13 DOHC. Can anyone with a KA-DE tell me the close-exact measurement the slave cylinders output shaft moves when the clutch pedal is fully depressed? I'm only getting about 3/4"

Next, my car didn't even have a pilot bushing. Will this cause my problem stated above?

Lastly, my clutch disc itself (Sachs) has a tiny wobble in the splined area where the trans' input shaft goes. Is this worth getting a new clutch? And if so, would it be okay to just get a clutch disc by itself, or should I get a full kit? I can get a pilot bearing for like $1 separately if need be.

Thanks

If by wobble, you mean the clutch disc is distorted or the splines are damaged, 100% get a new clutch, but that w/ the whole "not having a pilot bushing" then raises the question, is the trans even good?

You should have down there:

clutch
pressure plate
throw out bearing
clutch pivot
slave cylinder
clutch fork (as well there's a clip to hold this in place on the bearing)

If this car is new to you, replace all but the clutch fork, but still check it for damage. You don't necessarily have to replace the clutch pivot, but a new one is like $10-20, so why not.

EDIT: This isn't even talking about the possibility that all of that is in place, and working just fine, and it's the Master cylinder that's the damaged component. Or possibly a blockage in the clutch line. Or a blockage in the clutch dampener (located just before the slave cylinder). Or maybe it's just an adjustment in the master cylinder connection to the pedal.

I know how a clutch system and its components work.. I know the car has promblems, just asking if they're relevant. The splines aren't distorted/damaged, but the whole cast spline piece would shake. That's no longer a problem. I ordered a new Exedy from THM
