i am swapping a ka24de into my datsun. The block is out of a s14, however the harnes and ecu is from an s13 de. So far i have swapped the distributor to a s13 de. But I have a s13 sohc maf. Is the maf on the sohc and dohc the same? Also, is the tps on the s14 and s13 dohc the same? I am having trouble getting the engine to idle, and when i rev it, it just blogs out and dies. So I am trying to figure out what the problem is. Thanks.

I too am interested in the answer to this, I'm having the same problem with my ka'ed 240sx. Sometimes I can get it to start and it will rev pretty freely, but then when I try to put it in gear and go, it just bogs and dies as if the motor is flooding or something. I believe it's the maf or the pigtail connector; and a buddy of mine has a dohc maf that he can hook me up with.

if you have a dohc motor the sohc maf wont work you must use a dohc maf on a dohc motor and vise versa on the sohc.

I belive its the same with the tps you can check by calling the parts store and asking them the part number for both motors if they are the same or not youll have your answer their. to gr8bryt you need to swapover your buddies maf and see if it helps if not problem elsewhere. Or use a multimeter and test your maf

I thought you just said that the mafs are not interchangable. Tested the maf and it's good still, its the wires that connect to it are faulty somewhere close to the connector.
