do i have to remove the diff to change the oil or can it be done in situ?I had a look and can see where to drain the oil but not where to put it in.This may sound stupid but i never had to do it before.

There is going to be a plug on the bottom and one on above it to the left. All you should need is either 1/2'' Drive breaker bar or 1/2'' Drive socket to break loose the plugs (If they are still origional OEM). If your diff is from a S13 Non Hicas, it will hold roughly 1.5L. To fill it you can use a hand held pump (You can get these at any auto parts store). To refill: Plug and tighten the bottom hole, lower the car on an even surface and fill through the higher hole until it pours out. This should be 1.5L. Then tighten up the top plug and your done.
