Pics please?

You can clearly see the lines from it being a cheap overlay. I dont like the cheap plastic look of it either. Maybe Im just picky, but dashes are cheap from the wrecking yard.

Whatever dude.
LOL OMFG get some dye and color the rest of the dash to match that tiny piece that's covered by the door any ways. . The other small thing you circled is insignificant and doesn't deserve a response.

Looks great man. Dont worry about all of the people who think it looks like crap. They are just mad b/c it looks better than theirs. I have a very very small crack maybe 1/8 of an inch on the top of my dash. Cant even see it all im going to do is get some dash repair kit and slap it on and armor all the *****.

hay Dammitboy, how are your impressions on this 5 months later ?also do you have any pics without such high contrast, anything that shows an the dash installed and the color difference ?

And the defrost vent looks like they will need to be cut out to be able to remove the dash, since thats where the mounting bolts are.. ?

I have no cracks on my dash. Other than using a sun visor on the wind shield, what else can I do to prevent cracks? I'm not planning to put any stupid oil or stuff on it though. They just make things get hotter.

Installed mine a month ago and I gotta say it makes a whole world of a difference. Not seeing those cracks on my dashboard anymore gives you a totally different feeling sitting inside the car now. Totally worth the money! I'll post up pics tomorrow if I'm not so lazy.

Everything has held up well so far. I will shoot some pics soon for you guys. Regarding the defrost vents, I had the first production piece, so the newer ones should have that cutout.

I may do that if/when my dash starts cracking. Somehow I only have a penny size hole on the passenger door panel. I "sharpied" the hole so it kinda blends now.

I've had this for a few months now and it's definitely better than having a cracked dash but here is my experience with this product:

-The silicone seems to come loose over time with lots of heat. Some parts around the vents lifted up.

-The parts where it come in contact with the doors (when closed) seems to either rub or somehow stick to the door. Again, the silicone does not hold it strong enough because every time someone opens the pass door (which is hardly opened), the door tends to pull the dash cover as if the cover sticks to it.

Im not saying its a bad product, maybe I just didn't use enough of the silicone to attach it properly, unless there are others with the same issues. I know i can just redo it again.

I will try to get some pics up tonight of the rubbing on the parts near the doors as it looks like it wears down the cover .

How is the glare off of the dash? I have to agree when people say it looks cheap, but the only thing that would actually make me regret buying it is a blinding glare from the Texas sun while I'm trying to drive...

Glare is not an issue, my only issue is I wish I had requested a different grain pattern for mine. It does'nt quite match the OE dash.

TDS, maybe not enough silicone? Did not have that problem. I used a butt-load of glue, even when the directions said not to.

Has not lifted anywhere yet.

i thin kthe over lay looks nice, and the only person that would know it is and overlay is the one that installed it. to other people those lines would just look like where interior panels change.

thankfully my dash looks almost liek it did the day it came from the factory, not a crack or any thing. other wise i would hook up with one of these.

i think it would be a much needed option for most of us in the near future, lets face it these cars are getting harder and harder to find, and with a good dash is even harder .

Id like to get one, but with a more subtle texture, what was the texture you guys ordered ?

Nothing's going to be beat a good non-cracked oem dash, but cracking in these dashes are inevitable. It's going to happen sooner or later.

What if you took some satin paint and painted the dash, maybe that would take out some of the cheapness along with the shine. My dash has more cracks than a butt convention and I have yet to find a dash in my area that is much better than mine. I will most likely get this overlay to fix mine, but I will try to dull the finish to more match the factory dash.

if your stock dash is black, you should let me know what satin paint you use to match it to your interior.

because i was thinking of doing the same thing

It looks OK for an easy fix. IDK about the price though it just seems high IDK why. I am planning to try and wrap my dash in a black false suede material. I think it would look pretty nice especially if I get suede seats in the future. The fabric is pretty cheap and I don't see it being as hard as I might think. I may even be able to do it without removing it from the car.
