looking for what what the grip guys are running. I'm not really into the stretched tire thing. I want the most wheel and tire I can get with minimal fender mods, maybe a roll/no pull.

16x8.5+27 Kosei K1's with 225/45/16 Yokohama Evs 100 all around on lowering springs with a 30mm spacer out back. Thinking about going 245 in the back...

For grip the norm is 16. Something around 8" wide. +15 is really easy. Tires are more important though. On an 8" wide wheel you should be around 215, 225, or so.

225/50R16 tires fit great on 16x7 wheels, if you aren't going wider, save the weight/money from 16x8. 16x7 are only half an inch wider than the stock wheels, so as long as you don't get like +45offset, you're fine without a spacer- I'd keep it at like +35ish or less just to be safe. And yeah, like he said, tires are more important. If you are actually tracking them, look into the rules of the competition. My track is autocross, so here's what I know on tires. Are you competing in Stock? DOT approved slicks. Are you competing in street class? Not cheap: Bridgestone potenza RE01R, Cheap: Falken Azenis Rt615
