get a mig welder...anywhere you stitch two seams togather be sure to expose bare metal first with a wire wheel or sand paper. once everythign is cooled down, repaint

from what it sounds like you're green on welding. I'd suggest taking it to someone who's got experience with it instead of doing it yourself.

From calling a fastback a "non-coupe" and where you'd stitch, what's required and all those details come from experience. Reading stuff online don't make you good with welding either. Get it done by a pro.

to prevent fu*king up teh metal, have a good shop do all teh stitch welding, but strip your interior completely to prep the job for them and save yourself as much moey as possible,. If they do just teh stitch welding, you will save a bundle.

your thinking of a spot welding machine.a mig and tig can weld for what you need. spot, stitch, continous they can do them all.only thing im going to say is weld like your putting your wheels on. weld one inch secion on left strut tower, then an inch on right strut tower, then left and right etc. as far away from each other as possible to keep the heat down. just space them about an inch apart.
