I'm having some big problems. My new s13 front end coversion doesn't sit right, i dunno why.

Problems:1.) the Hood has to closed EXTRA hard for it to even close.2.) The Hood doesn't align properly with the Fenders, sits lower then the fenders for some odd reason.3.) Where the Blinkers, and Headlights meet. They aren't flush. The Headlights stick out a lot more.

Does anyone know why this could be happening, am i supposed to tweak the body parts before putting them on my car. By the way, i have a 89 hatch.

Any Solutions???

Thanks

conversions almost never line up especially if they are peices from seperat cars in japan. Your hood is also probably bent from something resting on top of it (so is mine).

1. Your hood is similar to mine. I have to lift mine about 10 inches and slam it down, I believe its just a spring issue, but not sure.

2. You need to get some new rubber under pieces, the ones on the corners of your car/engine bay, your old ones may be worn out. Get some new ones and adjust them higher, and it will align up perfect.

3. I havent seen many cars with perfect alignment on these, mine fit considerably well although there is a little gap (larger than usual) under the headlights and corners.

Check the fitment of the hood. I believe the screws that hold the hood down to the hinges can be moved freely to change the hood position if need be. If this isn't the case, sorry and I hope you fix it.

Have you tried adjustig the latch? It's like 3 bolts and you can adjust it up or down. I had to play with it when I switched to the silvia hood.

Where the Latch (loop looking thing on the hood) locks onto the mechanism in the front center of the car keeping the hood from flying up in your face while driving. The mechanism is adjustable up and down.

Okay, so todays my day off from work and I skipped Class today to fix my car. Well, I pop the hood to do everything everyone has suggested when I notice I have a problem. My front is bent. Tkae a look(image is attached).

Now what can I do to pull that forward again. So far my friend told me we can tie a nylon rope around it attach it to his car and slowly pull it out. Any other good ideas? Actually any BETTER ideas then that?

best idea i can guess for that is to grab a mallet of a ball pin hammer and start pounding it back into shape. get a small block of wood so you can make it more even.

I would suggest against that.. get a hammer and a block of wood like he said.. or take it to a bodyshop.

I got excellent Service there, Marcus i believe is his name. Nice guy. He gave me the wrong parts at first, but when i called him and told him he was real cool about it.

Only problem is he's hard to contact during the day, the shop is his "side job" so yah, he's mostly there at night though. Other then that, great guy and great place to go.
