hey guys i need your opinion and help.

I'm having problems with my clutch slave cylinder. I keep changing it about ever 6 months and i don't know why.

i start to notice slave cylinder going bad when driving hard the day before then leaving it over night. the next day i try to start my car i can feel the clutch pedal has play but when i start driving again the pedal's play goes away. however yesterday i thought the clutch pedal was going to do the same thing like mushy at first then get hard when i started driving but i was wrong. the pedal actually got worst to the point where i could barely drive it back home.

This happens about every six months and every time i change my slave cylinder everything is back to normal until it goes bad again.

Can anyone give me an explaination why i have to keep changing my slave cylinder? I tried every brand of slave cylinders already. i have no problem changing it cause its a breeze but i'm just concerned if its normal or not and what i can do if its not normal. PLEASE HELP ME OUT!!

whenever it starts to feel weird bleed it out and see if that helps any the break fluid might be gathering moister or something and also what kind of fluid are you using

originally i was using valvoline dot 4 brake fluid but when it started to feel weird i bled the system with racing blue brake fluid from germany and it worked for a couple of days but then the pedal started to feel like no pressure at all.. and i already had the damper box remove since i bought the car

Does the slave cylinder leak? Does the fluid get dark really quick? When you replace your slave do you replace it with a new one or a used one? If replacing with used slave, have you tried rebuilding one?

This is obviously not normal. Are you sure the clutch itself is not the culprit? When is the last time you changed clutch? Is the clutch master cylinder leaking or anything?

Good luck.

I use to also have to change the Slave Cyl i would buy from Autozone about the same every 6 months then. I went with a OEM Nissan and been good for a long time now almost a year and half now. I use Super Blue for my fluid as well.

the slave doesn't leak at all as a matter of fact nothing leaks.. but the fluid does get dark quick. also i've tried every brand except nismo.. i have a feeling its the clutch line because thats the only thing i haven't changed..

btw the clutch itself is not the culprit because i just changed it to spec stage 3 because i went KA-T..

i think its time to replace the clutch line with a braided line.. wish me luck guys and give me more opinions please

Is your clutch master cylinder leaking? If you are losing pedal, the fluid has to be going somewhere and air replaces that, giving the soft pedal. When you change your slave, you bleed the system of air, so it gets better for a while. Look closely at your clutch master cylinder.
