In all seriousness... the cheapest way to ship to TJ would be to bring it into Long Beach, then put it in a semi to take it down to TJ. With NAFTA and all that, the trucks can easily make it back and forth across the border. I'm not sure how much you'd have to pay to get it across though. There are probably a good couple hundred shipping companies in southern california that you could call though.

edit: After thinking about it for a few more seconds, it would probably be more difficult to get out of Long Beach, than to get the engine to Tijuana. It's not like you have to go through the Mexican EPA or anything. =) You'd have to find a place to meet up with the truck driver though, or some sort of warehouse / shop that he could deliver it to.

Sorry, but you're very mistaken about NAFTA and all that. Actually Mexican customs would charge you anywhere from 40-44%---on top of the price to cross it since it is an Asian product. You'll need a receipt which ofcourse can be forged and most people do. If you're good enough to fool them into thinking its an american product, currently you'll pay 12% tax.

Also, contact a company like Flashoptions. Theyre shipping company is French I believe, and they do deliver to Mexico, you may even be able to do this for free through flashoptions.

There are plenty of Mexican ports, not many customs agents at these ports, plus theres always bribes. I thought about doing this myself, but had mine delivered to the U.S. instead.

Tito,

Thanks for the info. I appreciate the expanded perspective on getting things across the border.
