Hello all,

Iv searched but I just cant seem to find anything about how to chop and tube a front end.

my car is an s13.

I would like know how they do it. Do they just contour the tubes to the engine bay and then make the tabs from there, Or is there a different better way to go about this?

This is what im talking about:

You remove the front fender aprons from the strut towers forward at the seams. Weld on your tubes and make your brackets. Theres alot more to it but thats the jist of it. May I ask why you want to tube the front end of your car? Is it a track monster?

Well the previous owner didnt believe in rust so the battery tray and all around it is a big rusty hole. its so crapped out I figured I might as well do it. Its an intimidating task but I really want to increase my skills. Besides the front end is really flexy and prone to understeer on the s13 and its a little front heavy. I was planning to swap an ls1 and tubing would lighten it up, improve balance and strengthen the front end. Plus if I swap in an ls1 im going to cage it so i might as well do this too.

I wish there was a guide on how to do this theres gotta be something out there :wtf2:

You could always get a tension rod brace and strut tower and thetes a write up somewhere on gusseting the frame where the core support meets. By all means if you have your mind set on it then do it. But it is alot of work and you gotta find a new place for everything on the aprons. Plus dom tubing is not cheap and you hsve to buy a pipe bender capable of bending thick wall piping. Get a good sway bar to counteract the front understeer usually the rear is what does it.
