s13 chasis

Im now looking for a s13 to start my sr project/swap. Any good advice , or anything i should look out for, because im gonna be looking for one taht isnt runninig or has a messed up engin, but the chasis has to be in good condition. Im asking this question becasue i know this guy who was getting a sr swap but his machanic look at the car and told him his chasis wasnt in good enough condition for the swap, something about it be rusted up or something. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

you want a body that has never been wrecked or had the frame modified in any way. Also, be on the lookout for rust under the black grime on the K Member and on the frame beneath the doors.

ok that real good advive. one question how would i check for rust under all the grim on the cross member, do i just wipe it away or something

use a rag and wipe at it a bit.the grime will come off, and if it is rusty, some flakes will come off too

I'd say if u wana know about accident pay the money for a carfax report if u find a car that you really think you want. I mean, check it visually first so u dont waste money. some stuff can be hard to see. when its be worked on by a body shop or repainted.

I checked mine aries (your post got me thinking). No rust, but damn 10 years of road grime was crazy.
