Isn't our stock hood 39lbs? On that site it says the carbon fiber hood is 50% lighter than stock. That would make it nearly 20lbs. I remember PDM Racing used to have a fiberglass hood they sold that was 18lbs for ~$250 (what ever happened to that?). Anyway, I thought the carbon fiber would be lighter.

Hello,Procarparts Customer Services.I am interested in seeing CFH-S13 CARBON FIBER HOOD for the S-13 pictured ona 1989-1994 Nissan 240sx vehicle. If you can't provide us with pictures,then can theperson that Fabricates the product provide a picture of the hood on a vehicle?There also is a question about the weight of the hood? We wanted to know if the 45lbs was the "gross weight"of the hood and the shipping container too? The net weight of the hood isn't 45 lbs? That seems to be a little on the high sideby about 100%.

the dimension weight means that the hood is so light that UPS would not make any money on the shipment if they charged you by weight. What they do is take the dimensions of the box that is being shipped and convert that into a "weight" so that they can charge more. I would assume that the hood itself only weighs about 15 to 20lbs, but because it is so damned big UPS has to charge by a "dimension weight" to come out ahead.
I ship lots of crap and have had to deal with this exact same thing when I shipped out a 1 piece exhaust. it only weighed like 40 lbs, but it was about 6 feet long and they charged me by a dimension weight of 70lbs or something like that.
