What stock parts are needed to mount a stereo head unit in a 1993 S13 fastback? My stereo was jacked months ago and I didn't care for in car audio up until now. As far as I know, I am in need of the din box under the head unit location as well as the necessary hardware to hold the unit in place. Any help and advice (offers?) is greatly appreciated! Please email me!

Only thign is 2 metal brackets. Very thin. And then if you want the black tray that goes under it. Just need something to mount it to.

I believe that I may still have the brackets. I know for a fact that I need the din box. Thanks for the info though.

You're lucky if they were nice enough to take your head unit out of the brackets... I had to got to the dealer and pay $23 apiece for the damn things! Only thing you need once you get a new head unit and a DIN pocket is about 12 screws - 4 for the pocket, 4 for the head unit (my head unit came with them, which is good, cuz you don't want them to be too long), and 4 to attach the brackets back into the opening.

That's a lot of hardware. I realized that I do not have the bracket. The FSM is obscure about the stereo installation illustration. I do need the din box, bracket and hardware. If I can't get any of these, I guess I will go for a custom fab job. Thanks for clearing up my confusion.

You don't NEED the din box. Cross your fingers and look for the brackets at a junk yard. Screws almost always come with the stereo. If not, just dig through your spare screws for some that fit without going too far inside the head unit.
