Machine the dowl pin off of one of them. The machine shop should know what Im talking about. Then install that one in the intake side. That is all.

The s13 exhaust cam is larger than both s14 cams. s13 cams are 240/248, s14 are 232/232.

Bigger cams hold the valves open longer, letting more air in and out. Using two s13 exhaust cams (since they are the largest) is a cheap way to upgrade cams. JWT and PDM are just two of the number of different companies that make larger cams, but they can get expensive.

Whoa, whoa, whoa...what are you talking about?

That's not "all".

You HAVE to have that pin...sure, its best to get it relocated to the proper spot, but just machining it off IS NOT the correct way to go about it!

Either:

1) Have a good machine shop relocate the dowel pin using your stock intake cam as a guide...

OR

2) Install the cam with the gear rotated 4 teeth CCW...which will have the cam ~1.7 degrees off, but not enough to cause any noticeable power loss in an N/A application.

FYI...

its honestly only slightly noticable... not worth the time, i just did it on my 95KA... and messed the timing up something fierce for about a week till i took the top front cover off, and used the drive sprocket as a guide for how many links should be between the dots... although if your serious about it, honestly, go junkyard hunting, i found my 248/248 setup for a total of $40... all it really takes to do it is a 10mm, 12mm sockets, and a 1" (and some other size) wrenches...

Pin has not been moved, I used the "4 tooth CCW" method, works fine.

And e'mail me at [email protected] for more info.
