What limits your guys opinions and sway towards an SR20DET or KA-T For that matter as opposed to the CA18DET. Please no general statements like, "because they suck..."

And say for instance you pick "limited aftermarket" would it help if certain shops specialized in CA18DET performance, and had power packages that could properly assist your CA to certain power figures and reliability?

For limited knowledge it seems that the CA18DET is very similar to the SR20DET (in terms of wiring) which I am finding out now. As for one of our swaps I used an SR20 Wiring diagram. Why don't you buy a CA18DET?

i didn't know much about the engine around the time of my engine swap, so i went with the SR. also, many shops i've talked to know nothing about it. *shrugs*

Does "because I am too poor" count as a valid reason? In all seriousness I would buy one, but I already have started down the path of KA-T. CAs look to be quite capable and reliable.

I don't have one since I haven't even gotten a fastback yet, but my interest has been increasing a lot with the CA18. I would swing to CA18 if I found a good deal, but I will probably stick with the KA until I can get enough money together. SR20 is pretty much outta the question for me, I will hardly have enough to pick up a car not to mention the money and risk of buying a SR. Cali Smog laws suck, I will be screwed any way I go boost.

for my next project i was going to pick an sr over a ca soley because there is so much more aftermarket for the sr. i also want to go with a apexi fc as of right now. if there was a better aftermarket for the ca (intercooler kits, manifolds, etc) i will definitly go this way. i would love to rev to 9k like a honda, haha, seriously tho

i totally agree...it's hard enough to find parts for a DIY KA-T setup, every time i go onto a site it's sr20 this and sr20 that...if i were to get a swap i would have to go with the sr because of the insane amout of options...

This company I'm working with is going to come out with a complete swap solution and range of tons of aftermarket parts. All the way from intakes to intake manifolds, exhaust manifolds, downpipes, intercoolers, bov kits etc.

The ca is just as capable as the sr "in my opinion". The ca is cheaper than the sr. By getting a ca you can upgrade your it as well for the price you pay for an sr. I was gonna go rb25 but my funds just seem to dissappear all the time.

i think the ca is more capable than the sr in my opinion, but lets not turn this into a versus thread. im jsut stating that the ca needs some aftermarket help

I agree as well the sr has alot of aftermarket support. I wish the ca had that much, since I decided on the ca myself. just waiting for my set :D
