s13 bogs out fuel pump issue? help

I was driving my car last night and its been running fine but then suddenly it started bogging out and it kinda sounds like a two stroke the cause you step on the gas but the rpms go up and down and the car jerks so you can feel when the fuel is going to the engine and when its not and i haven't driven the car since and im just wondering what the problem could be i was thinking my fuel pump but im not positive any help or advice would be highly appreciated.thanks
