s13 blacktop or s14 blacktop

i've been researching but im still kind of confused about the differences? so is there actually that huge of a difference? im trying to choose between them two which one would you recommend, i have an 95' 240sx (s14) auto, im also swapping the transmission too, have anyone swapped an s13 motor into a s14(95' 240sx) if so is that a bad idea or its an alright decision, whats the gain and loss?

Look at it this way. S13 blacktop is good for roughly 250ish whp with all the bolt ons and supporting mods staying in the turbos efficiency range. S14 SR is good for 300ish whp. S14 SR has VTC which enhances driveability giving much more lowend grunt. I like putting S14 SR's in S14 chassis, but that's a personal thing. I would put S14 SR's in S13's as well, but not everyone can afford that. As far as I know, the most aggressive intake cam widely available for the S14 SR are HKS 264 step 3. So if you plan on building something for huge top end end and high revs, that is something to consider.

IMO, for your chassis, I'd go with S14 SR. Make 300whp on the stock turbo and when you get tired of that upgrade the turbo.
