s13 black top ecu

so i got my sr today and the ecu i got with it is a sr20de ecu...i know i need the det ecu but whhat ecu can u use for the black top ? can u use a red top ecu ? or do i need any ecu from 1994-98 blcok top ?

I am 99% sure as long as it isn't the typex s13 sr then a red top ecu will work on a s13 black top.

they are pretty rare so I would be willing to bet it's not, but the sr faq will help. I would read through it. E5 ecu's are pretty common and you could probably find one at heavy throttle or even ebay for cheap I think there were only a couple hundred typex engines produced.

Redtop ECUs are 62 (manual), 63 (automatic).Blacktops are E5 and E6 (automatic)Type X ECUs are J4.

so my boy gave me a type x ecu som i just gonna repin it and use use it ...it was like 50 buck

red top black top same thing, i use my redtop ecu on my blacktop cause it has ignition cut not like my black top ecu
