s13 auto transmission swaped into s14?

just had a quick question about a transmission swap. i got a 95 240 auto transmission that is currently blown. i went and got a quote for a 95 auto transmission for 600 today. my question is can i just get an older 240 auto transmission and swap it out for my blown transmission? Is there any modifications to put the older transmission into my 95? The reason i ask this is because I can find a 92 auto transmission for much cheaper than the quote i got at the shop. this would save me atleast 400 bucks.

im not sure about the automatic, but on the manual there is a sensor at the top of the trans that will cause the ecu to throw code if left out, and it wasnt on my s13 when i replaced it.

i have a s13 automatic, was rebuilt in 1997 for 1600 dollars if you want it, i'll sell it for 50 picked up if you come get it i dun want to ship...
