before the flames begin to burn, this is NOT another how do I question.

so, i sourced a pair of seat belt assy. from a 1993 Isuzu Rodeo. and now i have a problem and possibly a solution (this is where my question is). The bottom bolt of the assy fits just fine, but the top does not. i came up with 2 possible solutions and want your opinion on it.

1) make a horizontal bracket and bolt it up...see pic below:

--no, i wont use a piece of metal that thick...

2) make a vertical bracket, cut tab off the assy.(circled in red) and weld the piece of metal to the bracket so i can use the original hole the screw went in:

3) get S14 seat belts and call it a day

so now i need your input. if you guys think the bracket idea would suffice, what metal thickness should be good? and if you suggest i get s14 belts or what ever, do u have some for sale?...i ask because the junk yard on my island sucks!...seriously, i been searching the junk yard for months and so far this is the best i could come up with..

thanks in advice

I think the second choice is a good route and will come out cleaner

I have s14 seatbelts and they have the same problem. If I remember correctly, there are 2 different versions. One fits perfectly and one required a little bracket.

I strait up just left mine without the top screw, partially because I'm careless and lazy, and partially because it seemed to me that the top screw was only to keep the assembly in line with how the car is turning. When it gets to a certain point of body roll it locks.

I'd go with option 2, because it seems much cleaner. I don't think you should worry about the metal thickness too much. As long as its solid.

thanks....so i will go with my second option..i think the bottom bolt, b-pillar bolt, and the clicker matters most when u need it...like you said, the top is just to hold it up-right
