hi hoping someone can answer if I need to install the 6 pound weight that is bolted on the tailshaft of the auto transmission and bolt it on the standard transmission? also
on the automatic there are 2 side bracket plates that weigh about 2lbs each that bolt directly to the engine to the auto transmission do I have to install these brackets back on the standard transmission? FYI the car is a 1990 240s sohc and is going to be a circle track car only so weight is a major issue.
I just dont want to break anything
Thanks
Mike

Shouldn't be anything on the tailshaft. Just install the MT as is.

For the side brackets, are you talking about the ones on the engine side? Black ones? If so I would put them back on, but probably not completely neccessary.

ok Thanks for your input, yes the 2 brackets for each side are black,as forthe weight that was bolted on the tailshaft of the automatic( i'm thinking its a counterbalance for vibration problem possibly from torque converter. The standard has the same 2 holes at the end where it bolted to the automatic,i didn't think it was crucial but wasn't sure,
Thanks for the input
