Ok I don't want to over complicate this... on the s13 and s14 ka on the intake manifold there is the large 8 wire plug that runs to all the intake mani sensors.

This Plug!

ok so on the s13 if you look at that plug the female side of the plug there are only 6 wires being used but on the male side (which is the harness side) there are 8 wires. so I assume it simply doesnt need all 8 since thats how it is stock.

Now on the s14 the harness is 8 on boths sides, as in, it is the same plug as the s13 but the s14 must need all 8 wires for its intake sensors.

I'm putting and s13 motor into and s14, we are going to use the s14 harness with s14 dizzy and MAF but from what I hear you dont HAVE to change intake manis like so many ppl do.

Now the BIG question ... I want to compare the harness side of the plug on both s13 and s14. if they are the same then I'll just plug the s14 harness into the s13 intake and be done. if someone knows or could use a multi meter and tell me where the s13 recieves power on that plug that would be great!!!

Use the S14 intake system, distributor, MAF and the exhaust system with the S13 motor; if you do this, everything will work fine and you won't have to worry about the 8 pin harness connector.

If someone with an s13 would run out and use a multi meter to tell me where power and ground is found on that plug I'd be happy!!

done and running. for the record I put an s13 motor into an s14 and the ONLY thing we swapped was the s14 Dizzy, S14 MAF, and S14 harness. all the other stuff tps, header, intake mani we didnt touch. Now I'm sure we'll have a few codes being thrown but she fired right up and idles smooth

thanks for the help

That plug is just for the IAVC, PAIR, and other stuff. You might not have great idle response when your A/C is on, but WTF. I personally have none of that on my car and I control idle at the TB. But thats just me. Sorry I couldn't be here sooner.

Are you using an S13 Distributor or S14? How did you do the wiring?

Big bump:

Do you need to change MAFS when switching S14 and S13 motors?
