Okay I've been reading a lot on the forums and I, like most people, love a good cheap mod. It seems like people are putting s13 cams in s14s more and more, but only from 91 s13s.

I'm pretty sure the s14 is a 232/232 cam (all years) and the s13 is a 240 intake/248 exhaust set up.

I have also heard about people running s13 cams backwards (248/240). What has to be done to the cams to do this? can you just bolt them in like this? Please someone clarify my information because I'm sure a lot of people would like to know flat out.

One more thing.... is there any difference in lift between the cams?

Lift is the same.

S14 = 232/232

'91 to Early '93 = 240/248

Late '93 (w/o the secondary butterflies in the intake mani) = Same as S14.

We don't do the S13 cams backwards, you use a second S13 248* exhaust cam in the intake spot to get 248/248...you just have to rotate it it 4 teeth to get the cam timing *close* to perfect, about 1.7* off. This is the same as the Nissan Motorsports cam set...they re-pin the exhaust cam to drop right in.

And then you have JWT, which is 256/256, when measured at stock lift.

Hope that clears things up.

rotate it four teeth clockwise?

i want to make sure cuz i know there are a bunch of s13s with engines at a junkyard near my house so I'm gonna go grab 2 exhaust cams this sunday and put em in.

248/248 would be more power in high RPMs while 232/232 would be more power in low RPMs right?
