Hey guys,

A buddy of mine has a 93 240SX coupe. We actually got the stock steering wheel off and everything. We had ordered a quick-release hub adapter and a JDM aftermarket steering wheel from E-Bay. The hub adapter fits and screws right onto the JDM steering wheel, however, we cannot figure out how to attach the hub adpater and steering wheel to the shaft properly. There apparently is a horn sensor on the neck of the steering wheel that we don't know how to get around. When we rest the hub adapter against the neck of the steering wheel shaft and try to turn it the horn sensor (which looks like a small nipple) gets stuck in one of the 6 slotted holes in the hub adapter.

All in all, we cannot figure out how to attach the hub adapter to the steering wheel shaft on the 93 240SX properly. How does everyone else do it? Would anyone happen to be able to show pics or give us a step-by-step installation or website so we can learn how to do it properly?

ANY HELP WILL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED! THANKS!

Old thread I know but I just want to express my hatred for those stupid @SS quick release adapters. They are 1. fugly 2. cause your wheel to sit further back towards your chest 3. server no purpose what so ever than to pose jdm tyTe riceness! Most actual drifters and autoX's don't run them so why do average people think they are so F'ing hot?

Flame on guys!!

1) If you actually get a good quick release, it will be solid, and usually aren't noticable anyway - ebay ones are usually crappy, but that's not a reason to disregard quick releases al together

2) for certain seats/driving positions, it is better when your steering wheel is closer to you - for example, my friend found that nardi wheel (which sticks way out) was much easier for him to steer/counter steer while drifting w/ his bucket seat.

3) w/ some seat / wheel combos it is much easier to get in & out of a seat w/ the steering wheel off - maybe you've never had to daily drive w/ a full bucket and aftermarket steering wheel before

4) when working on your own car in the interior, a lot of times, it is easier to have the steering wheel off (i.e. when working under the dash, getting at the gauge cluster, installing interior components around the driver's side, etc).

5) It's good and easy security....most of the time.

If you're driving hard for an extended period of time, it's easier with the wheel closer.

I mean, hold a weight out at arms length vs arms bent and see which is easier.

Im about to buy a new wheel and adaptor so that the wheel will sit closer to me.

Its easier for us tall guys, the wheel is closer to you, thus you can sit your seat back further and not hit your knees with your hands while steering.

But some wheels already sit really close to you, so you really dont need that quick release to bring it another 2" closer to you.

i got one that goes inside the hub so no real closeness except just the hub.it works great and the QR i have is different from alot of the other **** i've seen.

it's a good security device. that's why i got it. that, and it's not noticeable until i take the steering wheel off.

alot of 240's have been getting stolen in my area so i just got something that i know would work.they can take my parts but they can't take my car.

I'm looking for good quick release for my nardi steering wheel. However, I don't want to spend $250 bucks on a Works Bell quick release. What would you recommend? All I can find on ebay is NRG, are those good?
